FAQs

You have questions, we have answers

What is QA Data?

We’re a Business Intelligence company. Companies come to us with Big Data projects that they’re trying to tackle. We help them collect the data, aggregate it, and in some cases make sense of it. Basically, they have a problem that they’re trying to solve, and we use Big Data and Data Science to help them figure it out.

Can you give me some examples?

Some of our clients work with us to perform competitor research projects. We also have clients who use our data as part of their fraud detection algorithms.

What exactly is it that you do?

It depends on the project, but in general we find out what type of Data or Business Intelligence (BI) project our client is trying to undertake and figure out where we can help. Usually that means either helping them collect and aggregate data that they don’t have access to; or in some cases that could even mean assigning a Data Science resource to the project to help make sense of the data – like uncovering insights or making data-backed decisions.

Does it have to be certain types of data? Do you only work with shipping companies?

It doesn’t have to be just shipping data, or shipping projects. If you have a project that’s outside of the shipping industry, we’d love to hear about it.

Who are some of your clients?

We don’t typically share that type of information. If you’d like, you can fill out our Contact Us form and someone from our Business Development team will reach out to you.

How long have you guys been around?

We’ve only existed as QA Data for a couple of years, but our leadership team has been in the industry for much longer than that.

Where do you get your data from?

It can be a number of places. Most of it comes from publicly available sources like websites and articles. We also subscribe to some paid databases, and we also have a partner program where we receive data from 3rd parties.

Do you have a partner program?

We do. What kind of partner are you interested in becoming? If you’d like, you can fill out our Contact Us form and someone from our Business Development team will reach out to you.
